Guaranteed Search Engine Optimization Results
Truthfully - I'm a realist. My wife hates that about me. She likes dreaming and asking questions that have such abnormal-hypothetical answers that they are beyond the realm of imaginable. Being a realist also makes me prone to skepticism and criticism which has typically been my approach to “get rich quick” schemes or even worse “guaranteed SEO results” . The reason I’m critical of these concepts is that they imply that there’s a secret that will give you wealth – or top Search Engine Ranking – with little or no work. This simply isn’t true.
So, why am I writing a Blog Post that has a title indicating that you can have guaranteed SEO results? Well, it appears I was wrong – sort of – about secrets that can give you the upper hand. Let me explain:
Last week I was trying to freshen up a little on my SEO skills and knowledge when my reading and searching landed me on a product that I previously hadn’t heard of, Traffic Travis. Landing on their home page I was both skeptical and intrigued. Skeptical because that’s my default approach to websites that guarantee SEO results and intrigued because they are giving away a program that analyzes your site helping you identify the weak areas of your SEO strategy and suggestions to improve them.
I took the plunge and downloaded the program figuring at the very least I could write a blog review about how it didn’t work. However – I’m amazed at what this program can do and still stunned that it’s free.
When you launch the program you are prompted for your site’s URL. There’s also an opportunity for you to use your Google AdWords account to help filter data. Traffic Travis takes a minute or so to fetch everything it can about your site and in one place, with a slick UI, gives you everything you need to make your website as SEO friendly as possible.
There are two things worthy of note.
First, in addition to getting the program, Traffic Travis will also send you a 5 part training/starting tutorial (1 part each day for 5 days). The information in these emails are invaluable and if you are new to the SEO game will set you up with a strong foundation for understanding how SEO works and how to leverage your site.
Second, one of Traffic Travis’ greatest benefits is a feature they have called “page warnings”. Based on the accepted standards for optimized properties of a webpage – Traffic Travis will analyze your site and then tell you directly what your problem areas are.
You can see from this snap shot that we have some work to do at RynoMedia. However, while this feature is great – it is not 100% accurate. On most of my pages I’m getting an error stating I have too many H1 tags when those pages only have 1 H1 tag on it. But, I also have a lot of “Demo” pages on my site that we use to showcase our Concrete5 Themes. These pages were originally set up somewhat hasty and we are just getting around to fixing them. Traffic Travis is helping us identify directly which pages need new Title Tags, Meta Data, and other things to help boost our sites overall rating.
If you’re serious about doing Search Engine Optimization yourself – then this is the place you should start.
