For the Curious...

This website was built using Concrete5 CMS. We have done a lot of custom styling, templating and designing to get this site looking the way we want but it goes without saying that this site couldn't exist without Concrete5 and the amazing Community of developers and designers who are working everyday, often for free, to help make the web a more friendly place. Below is a breakdown to the add-ons and blocks we used to make this site run:

TweteCrete

TweteCrete

Tweetcrete allows you to easily add a Twitter feed anywhere on your website.  It will automatically link urls, trending topics and formatted username references. We used this block on the home page with a custom template to highlight the date in a black gradient box.

Social Icons

Social Icons

Social Icons allows you to enter your social URLs and have them displayed in a nice format with icons included. We've used this block on the home page with a custom template to list some of the ways you can connect with us. This is a brilliant and easily customizable solution to listing your social networks.

Defunct Testimonilas

Testimonials

With the testimonials block you can manage testimonials and display them at random on any page. We used a custom template of this block on the Home page as well as customized the layout and display of the Testimonials page that this block out-puts too.

Dojo Page Filter

Dojo Page Filter

Dojo Page Filter add-on will display a page list in a graphical thumbnail style. By adding the page filter menu you can make this page list filter by category type in a nice animated way.

This is the block we are using on the Portfolio section of the Home Page as well as the display of the actual Portfolio Page. We are using custom templates for both uses. This block is very smooth and provides a nice profession look and function to any website.

Content Around Image

Content Around Image

This is a nice and simple little block that allows you to place an image, either right or left justified, next to a block of text. This is the block we used to create this page! Also we used it to create our Concrete5 page and some of the concrete5 template examples as well.

AddThis

AddThis

This is a very simple block developed by concrete5 it makes it easy for your visitors to bookmark and share your content with others.

Facebook Button

Facebook Like Button

Add this add on to any page and it will allow your visitors to promote your pages on their Facebook profile. We used this block on all our Resource Pages.

Tabless Form Layout

Form Tableless Layout

JordanLev is a genious! This block has solved many a nightmare of designers all over the world. This is a custom template for the built-in form block that outputs HTML as a series of labels and divs (instead of table rows and table cells). Every element is given a class or wrapped in a div with a class, so you can easily style forms via your theme's CSS code.

We use this specifically on our "Testimonials" page.

Designer Content

Designer Content

Jordanlev has done it again by creating was is quickly being considered an indispensible block for use with Concrete5. Designer Content is an invaluable tool that allows designers to easily create custom block types. We have used this block to create multiple elements on the site - one of which is the "Featured Project" area on the home page.

Exclude Subpages

Autonav Exclude Subpages

This is another Jordanlev block that saved my back side. After we built the site and started adding the portfolio pages and the blog entries on the resource page we realized that it looked like crap and was going to get crazy if all those pages were visible in the Main Drop Down Menu. This block allows us to exclude those pages from the main menu but still maintain drop down functionality for other pages.
